Navigating high school can be a completely different experience when you have a sibling by your side (or avoiding you). Whether you’re the youngest, oldest, or middle child — or a twin — many car rides and late nights will be spent together. Here’s a look into the lives of some of the best dynamic duos at CPS.

Q: If you could describe each other’s lives in a song – what song would it be?
Matthew: Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles.
Jack: Too Good by Drake.
Q: Who takes longer to get ready for school in the morning?
Jack: Matthew. 100%.
Matthew: Ok yes I wake up later but he makes us later.
(An argument follows)
Q: What’s the best part about having a sibling at CPS? Worst part?
Jack: There isn’t [a best part]. Just kidding. There’s always a constant source of energy to rely on — and there’s always someone to throw under the bus.
Matthew: Someone to help me with math.
Jack: There’s no end to the nagging.
Matthew: (clearly offended): Are we being serious here? I thought we were doing some sort of joint response.
Q: Who would survive the apocalypse?
Jack: Me.
Matthew: Jack.
Matthew: To be fair, Jack has practical skills and is personable so he could physically survive and wouldn’t get murdered by the other survivors.
Jack: True
Q: What is your favorite thing to do together?
Jack: B****. (To rephrase: “commiserate and complain”.)
Matthew: Yeah that’s good.
Q: What’s something funny/embarrassing that your sibling does?
Jack: Our bar mitzvah photos.
Matthew: Now that’s a joint answer.

Q: If you could describe each other’s lives in a song – what song would it be?
Parker: “In” from Carrie the Musical.
Sylvie: That’s such a bad song.
Parker: But it’s the best musical theater song that describes your life.
Sylvie: I’d say that too. It’s all about wanting to fit in
Parker: Is there a song that describes sitting on your computer all day? How about taking a selfie? Oh you know what song describes sylvie? The Petty Song
Sylvie: Then “In” from Carrie describes Parker’s life.
Q: Who takes longer to get ready for school in the morning?
Sylvie: Me.
Parker: Yeah.
Sylvie: No, you take longer because you wake up earlier!
Parker: Yeah then I do take longer.
Q: What’s the best part about having a sibling at CPS? Worst part?
Parker: She can buy me food
Sylvie: I knew she was going say that!
Sylvie: I make her do things for me.
Parker: I have to deal with her driving me places and whenever I ask her for something, she always says “I have to drive you everywhere” even though I have to sit in the back of her Mini.
Q: Who would survive the apocalypse?
Parker: ME
Sylvie: Parker.
Parker: I went to zombie apocalypse survival camp.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do together?
Sylvie: Eat, shop, drive.
Parker: Those are all horrible options.
Parker: We don’t really do anything together.
Sylvie: Yeah we do!
Q: What’s something funny/embarrassing that your sibling does?
Sylvie: She becomes obsessed with any musical I’m in and sings them loudly in in the shower.
Parker: Whenever Sylvie turns while driving she says “watch me whip around that turn” or “just whipped” or “whipping”.

Q: If you could describe each other’s lives in a song – what song would it be?

Miya: That’s like every Taylor Swift Song.
Sam: Then any Taylor Swift song.
Q: Who takes longer to get ready for school in the morning?
Miya: Sam.
Sam: That’s not true. I wake up later.
Miya: We’re always late to school, though.
Sam: By late she means we get to school at 7:58 and she takes over 7 minutes to walk to class.
Q: What’s the best part about having a sibling at CPS? Worst part?
Sam: [The worst part is] I have to drive her.

Miya: And I can get help with school.
Q: Who would survive the apocalypse?
Miya: Probably Sam.
Sam: Yes! Haha.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do together?
Sam: Watch TV.
Miya: Watch movies with the family. Our favorite TV show is probably The Office.
Q: What’s something funny/embarrassing that your sibling does?
Miya: There’s nothing super embarrassing… once when I was 10 Sam filmed me wearing a paper moustache and I looked like a boy.
Miya: When Sam was younger he was terrified of buttons so our mom had to take off every button on all his shirts.
Sam: Just to clarify that was when I was five years old.
